Carpediem Counselling: Bereavement, Terminal Illness, Sexual Abuse

Sexual Abuse

We are able to help with all forms of sexual abuse for both male and female victims.

If an incident has occurred in the last 48 hours you may wish to talk with an organization such as the Rape Crisis Centre or the 'Accident and Emergency' department in your local hospital for practical help on what steps to take.

Female victims

We offer counselling for recent events and those experienced in the past, including abuse during childhood:

  • Abuse by a family member or close family friend
  • Telling people
  • Telling your partner
  • Building self confidence
  • Managing sexual relations with new partners

Male victims

It can be difficult for males due to the common perception that males are abusers not abused. Counselling online can be the first step in the process.

  • Re-establishing self worth
  • Approaching people for help
  • Expressing feelings
  • Discussing with partners
  • Managing impact on sex life
